2025 National Common Entrance Examination into Federal Unity Colleges; The National Examinations Council (NECO) has officially fixed the date for the 2025 National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE) into Junior Secondary School (JSS 1) of Federal Unity Colleges across Nigeria.
The examination is set to hold nationwide on Saturday, 14 June 2025. This article contains everything you need to know—eligibility, registration, exam format, timetable, school list, and important rules.

- Exam Day: Saturday, 14 June 2025
- Portal Opens: Monday, 11 November 2024
- Portal Closes: Saturday, 14 June 2025 by 9:00 am
Candidates and parents are advised to complete registration before the deadline. No entry will be accepted once the portal shuts.
Eligibility Criteria
To register for the 2025 NCEE:
- The pupil must be in the final year of primary school
- The pupil must be at least 10 years old by September 2025
How to Register Online

Registration is strictly online and must be done via the official NECO portal. Follow these steps:
- Visit NECO portal.
- Create an account using a valid phone number and email address
- Check your email and activate your account
- Pay the registration fee of ₦5,940 per pupil

- eNaira
Note: Bank transfer is not accepted
- Fill in the pupil’s biodata
- Upload a passport-sized photo
- Print the photocard for the exam
What Cannot Be Changed After Registration
Once registered:
- You cannot change the exam centre
- You cannot edit the pupil’s name or photograph
- If the selected college is already full, the candidate may be assigned to another school

The NCEE consists of two papers, each divided into two parts:

Special Provisions for Pupils with Disabilities
- Pupils with albinism or blindness will receive 30 extra minutes per paper
- Blind pupils will write on the NECO-provided OBR braille sheets
Items Not Allowed in the Exam Hall
To avoid disqualification, candidates must not bring any of the following items:
- Mobile phones
- Tablets or iPads
- Smart pens or smart watches
- Smart glasses
- Programmable calculators
- Scientific calculators
