2024 NITDA Digital Nigeria Innovation Challenge: Applications Now Open. The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has launched the 2024 Digital Nigeria Innovation Challenge, aimed at addressing critical infrastructure issues across Nigeria through technology and innovation.

Challenge Overview

Participants will collaborate to create digital maps of one Nigerian state, focusing on key infrastructure such as hospitals, schools, roads, and utilities. These maps will provide insights into infrastructure needs, supporting sustainable development efforts across the country.

Objectives for Participants

Teams will:

  • Identify key infrastructure in their chosen state.
  • Use digital mapping tools to create detailed, interactive maps.
  • Present their findings to highlight infrastructure gaps and opportunities.
  • Submit their final project as a URL link to their digital map.

Eligibility Requirements

To participate, teams must meet the following criteria:

  • Nigerian Citizenship: All team members must be Nigerian citizens with valid identification (National ID, Voter’s Card, International Passport, or Driver’s License).
  • Age Requirement: Participants must be at least 18 years old.
  • Team Composition: Teams should have 2 to 5 members from both technical and non-technical backgrounds.
  • Team Participation Only: Individual entries are not allowed.

Focus Areas for Mapping

Teams will focus on mapping at least one of the following categories:

  • Healthcare: Hospitals, clinics, health centers.
  • Education: Schools, colleges, universities.
  • Transportation: Roads, bridges, public transit systems.
  • Utilities: Water supply, electricity, waste management.
  • Public Services: Police stations, fire stations, post offices, government offices.
