University Of Ibadan Releases 2022/2023 Open Distant Learning Admission Form; The University of Ibadan (UI) is known for its commitment to providing quality education to its students, and the institution is expanding its reach through innovative educational delivery modes. The University now offers two modes of study: the traditional face-to-face mode and the innovative Open and Distance eLearning (ODeL) mode.

The two modes of study are both viable alternatives for pursuing a University of Ibadan degree, and the University has entrenched the “Parity of Esteem” policy to ensure that students on both modes of study have equal rights and privileges. This means that students in both face-to-face and open-distance eLearning modes go through the same curriculum, examinations, and course lecturers/facilitators. They earn the same prestigious UI certificate and are both eligible for mobilization for NYSC.
The University of Ibadan Distance Learning Centre is now accepting applications for admission for the 2022/2023 Academic Session. The general public should be informed that applications for admission will be opened on March 13, 2023, for suitably qualified candidates.
Applicants can apply for any of the sixteen University Programmes in ODeL mode across five faculties, including the Faculty of Arts, the Faculty of The Social Sciences, the Faculty of Education, and the Faculty of Science.
The Faculty of Arts offers four programmes in ODeL mode, including B. A English, B.A Philosophy and Public Affairs, B.A History and Diplomatic Studies, and B.A Communication and Language Arts.
The Faculty of Social Sciences offers four programmes in ODeL mode, including B.Sc. Psychology, B.Sc. Economics, B.Sc. Political Science, and B.Sc. Sociology.
The Faculty of Education offers five programmes in ODeL mode, including B.Ed. Adult Education, B.Ed. Educational Management, B.Ed. Counselling and Human Development Studies, BLIS Library and Information Studies, and BSW Social Work.
The Faculty of Science offers three programmes in ODeL mode, including B.Sc. Computer Science, B.Sc. Statistics, and BNSc Nursing Science (for Registered Nurses and Direct Entry applicants only).
To be eligible for admission into any of the undergraduate courses at the 100 level, applicants must have credit passes in five (5) relevant WAEC/NECO/GCE subjects, and distinctions or upper credits in A’ Levels, NCE, OND, HND, Degrees, in addition to the relevant O’Level credit passes for the 200 level direct entry candidates.
Special consideration will be given to candidates who scored not lower than 40% aggregate mark in the University POST UTME examination but could not gain admission on the face-to-face mode due to constraint of space. Candidates in this category would be required to change their mode of study on the application portal.
