GAIN ADMISSION INTO ANY NIGERIAN UNIVERSITY WITHOUT JAMB – REGISTER FOR IJMB TODAY

Some unknown individuals, particularly young men between the ages of 17 to 28, are taking advantage of this situation to terrorize students staying on campus. Incidents reported include physical assault, snatching of valuable items (mainly mobile cell phones and power banks), sexual harassment, and attempted rape (with female students mostly as victims).

In response to these issues, the Committee on Security and Students’ Rights is working tirelessly to implement security patrol teams going around the school within those hours. We also wish to advise students to take the following precautions:

  1. Avoid being alone or reading alone in classes and under streetlights within those hours. Ensure you walk or study in groups or pairs.
  2. Carry whistles with you at all times. Blow it as a distress signal or call for help if you sense any danger and immediately move away from the situation. This will help security teams on patrol to locate you quickly.
  3. To identify yourself as a student, say or shout “peace!” or “friend!” if someone perceives you as an enemy and is trying to give a distress signal or call for your arrest. Carry your ID cards with you when outside your hostel. False alarms or distress calls will not be taken lightly or tolerated.
  4. Respond promptly whenever you hear a distress signal (whistle or shout for help) close to you. Your quick response may save a fellow student who needs help.
  5. If you experience any form of attack or harassment, please report it to the committee via WhatsApp or call.

We urge all students to take these safety measures seriously and be vigilant during late hours. Let us work together to ensure the safety and security of our campus community. Please forward this message to your fellow students to spread awareness.

Thank you for your cooperation and stay safe.
