According to Student Village, the majority of vice-chancellors, provosts, rectors, and other administrative personnel from tertiary institutions attended the program, which took place simultaneously across the six geopolitical zones of the nation.
In an effort to reduce bureaucracy, the examination body recently informed all of its stakeholders that all of its administrative and other communication operations will be fully automated.
After considering communication or interface constraints with other universities regarding admissions processes, the Board debated the policy.
The new rule is anticipated to go into effect in January 2023.
According to a statement made available to our correspondent in Abuja by the board’s registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, “the board will refrain from receiving any physical letter from any institution or agency starting in January, other than through its Interactive e-Brochure and e-Syllabus System.”
Oloyede promised that correspondence between JAMB and specific institutions would be individualized, which meant that such communication would not be open to third parties, like in the case of WhatsApp. Oloyede opened the North-Central Zonal workshop through a virtual conference at the College of Education, Federal Capital Territory, Zuba, Abuja.
Oloyede has implemented every procedure necessary to cut down on hardened corruption and incompetence in the test board, proving that he is a true reformer in JAMB.
“I have no doubt that your impressive turnout by the demonstration of attendance and intention for participation at this training is a testimony of your appreciation of the crucial role played by JAMB in continuously looking for ways to improve procedures for identifying and placing suitably qualified candidates in the open positions in all of our schools.
The goal of this training session and meeting is to discuss the interactive e-Brochure and e-Syllabus System, also known as the Interactive Brochure and Syllabus System. Consequently, we would like to extend a warm welcome to our distinguished facilitators who will be guiding us through this ground-breaking process of automation of curriculum, accreditation, admission, and general administration issues between the Board, tertiary institutions, and their regulatory agencies.
In addition to providing candidates with the different admission requirements needed from them by their prospective tertiary institutions, Dr. Mundi said that he was “deeply convinced” that understanding this training would ensure seamless communication between JAMB, institutions, and their regulatory agencies.
Oloyede explained that the automation of curriculum, accreditation, and general administration among JAMB, regulatory agencies, and institutions would provide individualized services to the institutions and agencies as only JAMB and the institution would be able to see any communication on the platform. Oloyede made this statement earlier when announcing the start of the policy.
“We found that the majority of our time was spent responding to letters from the National Universities Commission, National Board for Technical Education, and National Commission for Colleges of Education, three of the board’s primary stakeholders. We also receive correspondence from 890 institutions across the nation in addition to these stakeholders.
“The regulatory agencies often appeal to us for approval of new programs and accreditation of programs. And what we receive from institutions is essentially about admissions and registration or accreditation of new courses or quota issues.
“With this platform, if the NUC approves admission quota, it would be centralized in such a way that as soon as you see ‘approved’, everybody will see it and there is no need to write to JAMB,” he initially explained.
