Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be single and a Nigerian citizen by birth, with a National Identity Card or NIN slip and BVN.
- Must pass the medical, physical, and psychological standards set by the Nigerian Army.
- Must have no criminal record.
- Must possess a birth certificate from the National Population Commission, hospital, or local government.
- Must provide a certificate of state of origin.
- Male applicants must be at least 1.68 meters tall, and females 1.65 meters.
- Age requirements:
- Non-trades applicants: 18-22 years old (as of 31 December 2024).
- Trades applicants: Must not exceed 26 years old (as of 31 December 2024).
- A minimum of four passes in WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB (including English) is required in no more than two sittings.
- Applicants for trades roles must have a Trade Test/City Guild Certificate.
- Applicants must bring warm clothing (e.g., cardigan, head warmer, hand gloves, blanket) to the screening center.
