MINDS Scholarship Programme for Leadership Development 2025. Applications are now open for the MINDS Scholarship Programme for Leadership Development 2025. This scholarship aims to nurture young African leaders by providing opportunities for postgraduate study in African countries outside their own.

Scholarship Benefits

The MINDS Scholarship provides comprehensive financial support, which includes:

  • Tuition Fees: Coverage for academic expenses.
  • Accommodation and Meals: Financial support for living arrangements and food.
  • One Return Flight: Travel costs for the duration of the studies.
  • Stipend: Fixed monthly allowance for additional living expenses.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the MINDS Scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Nationality: Be a citizen of an African country and currently reside in an African country.
  • Institution Acceptance: Have formal acceptance by one or more MINDS preferred institutions outside your country of citizenship or residency.
  • Program Enrollment: Be accepted to pursue postgraduate studies starting in the upcoming year.
  • Academic Performance: Have achieved at least 70% in each subject/course over the past two years.
  • Leadership Potential: Demonstrate leadership abilities or potential, supported by responses to application questions.
  • Complete Application: Submit a complete online application with all required documentation.

Applicants must be accepted to study at one of the following institutions:

East Africa

  • African Leadership University, Rwanda
  • Carnegie Mellon University in Rwanda, Rwanda
  • Makerere University, Uganda
  • Strathmore University, Kenya

Southern Africa

  • African Leadership University, Mauritius
  • University of Cape Town, South Africa
  • University of Mauritius, Mauritius
  • University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa

North Africa

  • Al Akhawayn University, Morocco
  • Université Cadi Ayyad, Morocco
  • Université Mohammed V, Morocco

West Africa

  • Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology, Ghana
  • Pan-Atlantic University (Lagos Business School), Nigeria
  • University of Development Studies, Ghana

Application Requirements

All submitted documents must be in PDF format and not exceed 2MB in size. Required documents include:

  • Passport Copy: Data page of your passport.
  • Academic Transcript: Certified transcript for the last two years of study.
  • University Acceptance Letter: Proof of acceptance from the university.
  • Study Permit or Visa (optional): Copy of a valid study permit or visa.
  • CV/Resume: Detailed CV or resume (no more than four single-sided pages).
  • Reference Letters: Two letters addressing leadership potential and commitment to African development.
