This innovative initiative aims to enhance adaptable learning methods through the integration of Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

The unveiling of the Centre took place today, with the honor bestowed upon Professor Som Naidu, Principal Associate of Technology, Education & Design Associates in Melbourne, Australia. Professor Naidu, a former Pro-Vice Chancellor for Flexible Learning at the University of the South Pacific, delivered a lecture titled “Re-engineering Education Futures at the Confluence of Technology, Education, and Design” during his first visit to FUL.
Professor Naidu was accompanied by a distinguished academic figure, Emeritus Professor Olugbemiro Jegede, the current Chancellor of Littoral University, Porto-Novo, Republic of Benin, and a former Secretary to the Government of Kogi State, Nigeria.
In the preceding year, Vice-Chancellor Professor Olayemi Akinwumi appointed Professor Ibrahim Adeku Musa as the Director of Distance and e-Learning to spearhead the initiative. The goal was to position FUL as a leading university offering comprehensive distance and e-learning programs in Nigeria.
Under Professor Musa’s guidance, his team diligently worked to swiftly develop and deploy complete e-learning software packages within a short span of time. Simultaneously, efforts are underway to obtain the approval of the National Universities Commission (NUC) to officially commence these programs.
During the unveiling event, the Vice-Chancellor acknowledged the need for additional facilities, particularly in terms of furnishing and equipping the center. He appealed for support and assistance from the esteemed guest lecturer, Professor Naidu, and the former Secretary to the Government, Emeritus Professor Olugbemiro Jegede, to further enhance the Centre’s capabilities.
