Suspected assassins kill FUWUKARI student on his farm
Daniel Bala Benedict, a professor member at the Federal University of Wukari in Taraba State, was assassinated on Tuesday, April 18, by unknown assailants suspected of being assassins.
The 44-year-old staff who was also a Ph.D. student at the University was hacked to death on his farm in Wukari local government council shortly after taking his children to school. After killing Benedict, the gunmen were said to have used his mobile phone to notify the wife of their dastardly act, and on rushing to the scene, the remains of the deceased were discovered in a pool of blood.
Dr. Adi Grace, the Caretaker Committee Chairmen of the local government, confirmed the occurrence and encouraged people to remain calm as the council, in partnership with security agencies, works to apprehend the offenders.
The State Police Command’s spokesperson, Abdullahi Usman, confirmed the event and stated that efforts to find the offenders are in full swing.
