Police Refute Bribery Claims in Student Assault Case
Nigerian Police Arraign Landlord, His 70-Year-Old Mother, One Other For Brutalising Lagos University Female Students
The female students, identified as Udouko Ememabasi Clifford, were granted bail by the Magistrate Court on Wednesday during the trial. The police dismissed allegations that the suspects were released due to bribery, explaining that one of the defendants is elderly, which influenced the court’s decision.
“The claim that we are not doing our best in this case is false. We even detained them longer than necessary to ensure justice for the students. We arraigned them, and it was the court that granted bail yesterday,” the police clarified.
