The Oyo state police command has rejected a viral story that herdsmen attacked the Community Secondary School in Alaropo Nla, Orire Local Government Area, on March 30.
According to previous accounts, suspected ranchers raided the school farm with their cattle on Thursday morning, hurting some of the school teachers and children who attempted to prevent their cattle from grazing.
In response to the report, SP Adewale Osifeso, spokesperson for the police command, stated that the herdsmen were calmly grazing their cattle outside the school when people began to raise false alarms. He went on to say that no one was hurt and that a team of police officers was rushed to the school to investigate.
Osifeso maintained that there’s peace in the area and the state is still enjoying the peace witnessed during the recently concluded 2023 General elections.
