On Monday in Niger State, a MI-171 helicopter belonging to the Nigerian Air Force went down while transporting injured people.
The accident was confirmed in a statement by Edward Gabkwet, a NAF spokesperson.
As of the time of publication, it was unknown how many people were onboard or how they were doing when the accident occurred at around 1pm.
“The plane had taken off from Zungeru Primary School bound for Kaduna but was subsequently found to have crashed close to Chukuba Village in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State.
While initial investigations have begun to ascertain the likely reason of the crash, efforts are still being made to save the crew and passengers on board the helicopter.
