Kwara State Polytechnic Suspends Keke Napep Services on Campus

The Kwara State Polytechnic Students’ Union Government (SUG) has announced the temporary suspension of Keke Napep services within the campus. This decision comes in response to a sudden and unjustifiable fare increase, raising prices from ₦100 to ₦200.

The SUG expressed concern over the fare hike, describing it as unfair and exploitative, particularly given the economic difficulties currently facing students and some staff members. Students heavily depend on Keke Napep for on-campus transportation, and the price increase is seen as unsustainable for many.

In response, the SUG has initiated discussions with Keke Napep operators, campus authorities, and other stakeholders to resolve the issue and negotiate a more reasonable fare structure. The union is committed to finding a solution that balances affordability for students with the operational needs of transportation providers.

During this period, students are advised to refrain from using Keke Napep services until further notice. The SUG assures students that their well-being and access to affordable transportation remain a top priority and promises to keep the campus community updated on the progress of the negotiations.
