IMSU Pulls Out Of ASUU Strike

On Monday, Imo State University in Owerri declared that it was ending its participation in the Academic Staff Union of Universities’ seven-month strike.

On Tuesday, September 20, the university asked both its students and employees to return to class.

Ralph Njoku, the university’s public relations officer, told our correspondent that the university made the decision to end the ongoing strike in the best interests of the faculty and staff at the institution.

He claimed that radio stations had received a statement announcing the news, which would begin airing repeatedly on Monday afternoon.

Yes, the university spokesperson clarified. It is real. We’ve told the students to get back to work right away. Tuesday is the start of classes. For the benefit of our students and employees, we are taking this action. Not only are we ending the ASUU strike, but we are also requesting that everyone go back to school.

Schools are becoming the Trojan horse 🐎 that will destroy ASUU. This is why FG keeps having leverage over the union.
