Participants should write an essay on “Navigating the Future: Safety First!“, focusing on the importance of safety, security, and environmental protection within the maritime industry in the face of technological advancements.
Eligibility Guidelines
The competition is open exclusively to students from Maritime Tertiary Institutions and those with maritime-related departments. Applicants must provide proof of studentship, such as admission letters and identity cards from their institutions.
- Essays should be double-spaced in MS Word format, with font size 12.
- Plagiarism and the use of AI tools are strictly prohibited.

Prizes and Awards
The winners will receive the following prizes:
- 1st Place: N500,000 Education Grant, Laptop, Plaque, and publication of the essay in NIMASA’s magazine, The Voyage, and on the NIMASA website
- 2nd Place: N350,000 Education Grant, Laptop, and Plaque.
- 3rd Place: N250,000 Education Grant, Laptop, and Plaque.
- 7 Consolation Awards: N100,000 Education Grant and Plaque.
Deadline
The deadline for essay submission is Friday, September 13, 2024. Late submissions will not be accepted.
