Successful remedial candidates who pass the examinations conducted by the School and meet the minimum UTME cut-off point approved by the University will be considered for admission into degree programs based on their performance and the quota allocated to each program.
AFIT Basic and Remedial Application Form for the 2023/2024 Session
Admission Requirements:
Social and Management Sciences:
Applicants must pass five subjects at Credit Level in the SSCE/GCE organized by WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, in not more than two sittings. These subjects should include the core subjects relevant to their intended course of study.
Note that Credit grades in English Language and Mathematics are compulsory for eventual admission into any program. Two of the five subjects must be from Social Arts, while the remaining subjects may be from the Social Sciences.
Engineering and Sciences:
Applicants must pass the following subjects at credit level: English Language, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics, in not more than two sittings in the SSCE/GCE organized by WAEC, NECO, and NABTEB.
Duration of the Program:
The program has a duration of two semesters, equivalent to one academic session.
Eligibility:
The basic program is primarily open to applicants who were unable to secure admission into AFIT due to having a UTME score below the JAMB cut-off point. However, applicants who have applied to other universities may also be considered.
General Conditions:
Applicants who have a credit pass in five O’Level subjects but have deficiencies in English Language or Mathematics may apply for the program, provided that they register for and obtain a credit pass in the deficient subject before being considered for admission into a degree program.
Admission into programs will be based on performance and the quota allocated to each program.

- After payment confirmation, print out the application form.
- Submit the printed application form, along with relevant documents, to the School of Basic and Remedial Studies office.
